mLooking for a college laptop ($500 USD budget)

Hey guys, I'm off to college in a few short months and thus have been hunting for a laptop that fits my needs. It's been a while since I've looked into anything computer related so I feel completely out of place in my search. I have a pretty solid desktop PC I will be bringing so the laptop doesn't have to be anything hardcore, was thinking of a chromebook but that's a little to little.
Total budget and country of purchase: Max 500 and USA
Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life, or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. I prefer battery life over any of the three, but also wouldn't want a sluggish machine.
How important is weight and thinness to you? In this budget I'll take what I can get, if it's light and thin then great! If not, then I'll deal with it as long as it's not like I'm carrying a metal brick.
Which OS? Windows or Mac.
Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. NA N/A
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. I got my desktop for this stuff, but I guess I wouldn't mind running a quick game of fortnite every once in a while.
Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
Good quality keyboard is essential since I'll be typing on this for college.
Thanks for the help, hopefully there's something out there for me!

Hi, just to let your know this is a UK website...
Anyway, this HP would suit you need, although it is slightly overbudget.
