Vanquis Card Application - call back question

I applied on the 25th for a Vanquis card to help rebuild my credit. The intention is to use it for my diesel for the month and pay the full balance each time.
Anyway, it asked me for two contact numbers when I applied, one of which must be a landline. I do have a landline installed thanks to Virgin having it as part of the bundle, but I never use it; no one has the number and I don't even have a phone plugged in...
If they try my landline it'll only ever ring and ring. Will this be a problem, or will they also try my mobile?

Don't worry, they will ring your mobile.0

Cool, thanks!0

I'm surprised that these days any company requires a landline it must limit their market considerably0

Anyone know how long they are taking to call at the moment? Been a week since I applied.0

I find it odd that they require a landline in this day and age - but I suppose it's another way that they can check you are tied to a physical address. Put the landline number, and if they ever need to call you when they can't get through they'll use your mobile number instead.
If you got instantly accepted, then you should typically have the paperwork within 5-10 business days, and the card should arrive 5-10 days after you sign and return the agreement. If you were flagged for manual review, then it will take longer.0 -
It is now a waiting game, but they haven't asked for anything more so unless yours gets picked for manual selection you should hear back within a week (probably will be the card etc)0

If you have a slim credit file or recently recovered from a poor one, Vanquis will take some additional measures to ensure the card is issued on merit.
You will usually be asked a few questions, some of which could be used to conduct a further assessment or to cross-reference application details. Depending on their current policy and the outcome of the credit check, some new customers are required to setup a Direct Debit for approval. This reassures the lender that payments are arranged on a more solid basis.
If you are asked about a cash advance, I would personally advise against it, as having a Vanquis card should be for more purchase orientated transactions due to the interest rate, although the facility is there at your discretion. I am pleased to inform you that cash and purchase interest are no longer more expensive than the other, meaning a purchase & cash advance cost the same in interest, although a charge of £3 or 3%, whichever is greater, will be applied to a cash advance, along with instant interest accumulation with no grace period. Vanquis have been known to waive the cash fee for some customers, but please ask about this first before going ahead.
Once the phone call assessment has been completed, the card and PIN should arrive within 10 days, although typically sooner. Your phone call should not take more than 10 days to occur and if it exceeds 10 days, it could be worth contacting them and kindly requesting an update.
Your credit limit could range from £200 upwards, depending on your credit file. Assuming you have a slim file or are recovering / recovered from a poor file, the credit limit may typically begin small, gradually building up with proper use of the account and no excessive debt elsewhere.
Once you reach £1,500 for your credit limit, the Gold card may be awarded. Whilst the card itself is more attractive than the standard, there is no practical benefit or difference to the running of your account.

Thanks for the comprehensive info! I got my call today; they went through a few questions, and accepted me with a small credit limit. This is fine as the purpose is to start rebuilding my credit, I use about 100 quids worth of diesel each month so this will cover my driving and I'll pay the full balance each month.0

Hi. My experience of VAQUIS and AQUIS cards is that they call within hours. I open and close these every year and get Quidco money. I would call them. The offices seem to be in Kent (rather than Provident, Bradford) and they are nice to speak to.0
