Hi, i was lucky enough to be given a laptop, i am giving it to my little girl for christmas, all it needs is a hard drive but i am having trouble finding out which one.
If someone can help me i would really appreciate it, i can take pics and give any details you require.
It is a
Advent 7063m
intel pentium M processor 1.50gh
intel 855gme graphcs supporting dvmt up to 64mb shared mem
ac97 2.2 sound chip
40gb hard drive
256mb ddr ram
it says removable hard disk drive 2.5" 9.5mm
also does it click straight in or does it need some sort of holder
If anyone can help i would be *so* gratefull

Have a look here - https://www.gennersales.co.uk/recovery/advent7000seriesharddrives.htm#Advent_7063m_Laptop_Hard_Disk_Drives
I have never used this company but it s a starter for 10
However ths may also do the trick at half the money - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Generic-Notebook-Hard-Disk-Drive/dp/B000OUF6PU0 -
Any 2.5" IDE hard drive should fit and work ok, as long as you still have the special cradle that the drive screws into.
Any of these - http://www.ebuyer.com/search/?intCatID=4&intSubcatUID=19 (but not the first SATA drive). Of the ones listed I would go for either the Western Digital 60 GB for a bit of extra capacity or the Seagate 40 GB, which has a 5 year warranty.
Or buy a drive which costs just over £30 from ebuyer and then use Google checkout to save £10 (offer ends today).0 -
it probably needs an ide hard drive and they are 2.5" in size
you can pick them up off ebay if you get a reliable sellers or go for ebuyer.com0
