Return and Postage

Options
I sold an item a couple of weeks ago, which was new in bag.

there was no label showing the size, but I had diagrams showing dimensions.

Today I have received the item back, with the comment .. This was too small and I would like a refund please.

There was no return opened through Ebay.

Do I refund the original postage plus the purchase price only, or do I have to refund the return postage too ?

If I refund all postage figures I lose about £6 for no fault of my own, although keeping my 100% feedback is probably worth more than £6.

Ok .. I answered my own question I suppose, but what would other folk do ?

Comments

  • Too small doesn't exactly say if there was a misdescription.

As there was no case open, I would open dialogue with the buyer and send a message saying you've received the item back and what would they like you to do.

You should be refunding their full original payment price (item plus postage) - I have had buyers who make a mistake and offer to pay the outward postage - ie to deduct £x from their refund (I decline as I am a business) but it may be something your buyer suggests.
