Hi, I have been struggling to find out how to post a question and here is only the place
I’ve found to write my question.
I was driving on the M1 south bound at around 47mph and a Camera flashed ?!
How is that possible that can’t be breaking the law can it.
All the speed limits have been changing to 60, 50 etc etc.
Can any one shed some light on this ?

Firstly, read the advice above. If you were driving within the speed limit, then it was either something else or someone else being flashed. I regularly use the M1 from J46 down to J28, and all of the cameras I can think of are positioned to the left of the gantry, so unless it's dark you can't really tell if you've been 'flashed'. If it was dark, then there are 3 lanes going both ways so any vehicle in any of the lanes could have been the one that was speeding, for which you saw the flash.Obviously, if the limit was down to 40, then expect something to drop through your letter box.0

If the OP was doing an indicated 47 then actual was probably 45 or less. So in all probability they won't receive anything (if the ACPO [?] guidelines are followed of 10% + 2).0 -
Hi all!
Just wanted as many opinions as possible on this...
TLDR, but from what I read, you were doing 63 in a 60 and got flashed. You'll be fine.
Funnily enough, I was on the M1 just a couple of weeks ago (around J9) and was doing 77 when the gantry said 60. Got flashed but nothing's come through.0 -

Then you can breathe reasonably easily (once 14 days have elapsed)....provided, of course, you are the Registered Keeper and the V5C shows all your details correctly.0 -

I thought Deastons never went above 60?0

Deastons, the first guy was doing the 63, the guy (#13) who tagged onto an old thread was doing the 47 in something between 40-70, but he wasn't quite sure.0
