Parking Eye - Glasgow Marriott 2018

Hi there, I've gone through as much information on this website as I can including all the newbie content. I've been a bit overwhelmed and unsure on the best possible route to take, if I could have some advice that would be great.
The ticket is from Parking Eye at the Glasgow Marriott in Scotland.
The driver of the car pulled into the Glasgow Marriott to pick up a family member. The car also has a blue badge. It was inside the Marriott for less than 20 minutes.
I was shocked when I saw the triple figure charge from Parking Eye when the driver was in for less than 20 minutes, the driver didn't see that the blue badge offered no difference inside (which is far the norm), and also for the time spent inside.
The family member could have just said the name of the car, but I'm not sure what can be done now, or the best course of action hereon.
I am unable to link to Glasgow Marriotts parking costs, butI believe they can be viewed if you search for: 'marriott glasgow parking disabled'. The search pulls up a PDF.
If any more information is required, please do let me know if I've missed anything or if I should change anything. Your help is much appreciated.

Maybe this from the 'newbie content' you've 'gone through'?Q - ''I'm in Scotland/NI, so is the advice different?''
A - IF THE EVENT TOOK PLACE IN SCOTLAND OR NI, WE SUGGEST YOU DO (ALWAYS!) COMPLAIN TO STORE MANAGEMENT IF YOUR PCN IS FROM A RETAIL PARK, BUT DO NOT APPEAL, UNLESS YOUR CAR IS A COMPANY/HIRE/LEASED VEHICLE, IN WHICH CASE, APPEAL AS HIRER/LESSEE (SEE * AT THE FOOT OF THIS POST).
IN SCOTLAND/NI, CERTAINLY COMPLAIN TO THE RETAILERS, BUT IGNORE THE PARKING FIRM UNLESS YOU GET A CLAIM.
IN SCOTLAND THIS IS EXCEEDINGLY RARE, AND DEFENDABLE BY A KEEPER, WHO CURRENTLY HAS A FAR MORE PROTECTED POSITION IN LAW THAN AN ADMITTED DRIVER.
WHEN IGNORING IN SCOTLAND/NI, KEEP ALL LETTERS. DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY, FOR 5 YEARS.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thank you for the advice towards Scotland. I had read that, but wasn't sure of two things if I can just check them off:
- Should I complain to the hotel since it isn't a retailer, is there any point?
- I think the plan is to ignore, and I am correct in thinking it is highly unlikely they will pursue? If they do pursue, what happens?0 -
The Hotel is the same entity as a retailer as far as complaining goes (and of course is a retailer!!)0

@shwinerz what did you do in the end? and what was the outcome? I have recently received one of these "parking charge notices" however I am arguing that the car was not parked and infact idle, the driver was in the car the whole time and if anyone wanted the driver to move or if the car was not allowed to be here someone could have informed the driver. Also the signage was not very clear when driving into the car park.
If you could let me know it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.0 -
The OP hasn't been back here for six months you could wait for ever for a reply.I have recently received one of these "parking charge notices" however I am arguing that the car was not parked and infact idle, the driver was in the car the whole time and if anyone wanted the driver to move or if the car was not allowed to be here someone could have informed the driver.
That won't wash the car was on site for a period of time and no doubt caught on ANPR which has no human intervention on site.
You are wrongly assuming also that PPC's are reasonable people they are not they are greedy scammers who don't care what you did only what cash they can get.
You need to start a new thread if need be, read the newbies thread and if in Scotland follow the advice given to the OP, it's still current.0 -
Thanks for the heads up. I was not sure if the person would be notified by email that I responded. I will start a new thread looking for advice. Thanks for your help.0
