Excel court defendants costs

Hi,
I had a fun day in court with Excel after sitting there for a full day previously and the hearing being adjourned. I finally got in front of a judge and it was a clear whitewash. The judge was familiar with the area, and thankfully the rep from Excel/BW Legal knew he didn't have a leg to stand on and basically said to the judge that BW Legal hadn't given him much to work with.
Judge awarded it in Defendants favour, and agreed schedule of costs to be paid. Unreasonable behaviour claim part was struck out, and the full day I had to sit there when it got adjourned I was told i couldn't claim against the claimant as this was a fault of the courts not Excel.
Fast forward over 14 days later, and I've still not received a cheque for the amount from Excel/BW Legal. I briefly remember hearing or reading somewhere they had 14 days from judgement to settle the amount? Is this correct or what payment terms are they on to pay me my monies owed

You need to find out what the court ordered, if it was your costs to be paid within 14 days then that's what they must do, of course they wont do it because 'They don't like it up em lol' but once you've clarified what the judge ordered issue them with a 30 day reply deadline LBA hahaha and then if they ignore that, pay £25 and take THEM to court.
Oh I hope they don't pay or reply to you because it will cost them a lot more when you upgrade it to high court and 'MR GRIGGS' goes calling haha
Well done on your win by the way.0 -

Well done:T BWLegal failed again :rotfl:
Did the judge not give them a time period to pay ?
If they go over the time period, you can for a fee, about
£100 request the court to send in the bailiffs and the £100
is added to their debt with you which once collected you
will get back0 -

Did the judge not give them a time period to pay ?/QUOTE]
Thanks beamerguy! It was certainly a relief hearing the judge say it was awarded in my favour.
He ordered them to pay the costs and broke down my schedule of costs and amended the amount i had claimed for to a smaller amount, but in the heat of the moment i don't recall him saying specifically a timeframe.
I was just under the impression from reading or hearing somewhere its a 14 day period which has lapsed now. Do I need to call the courts to confirm what period the judge awarded, or will this be recorded somewhere online to view ?0 -

Yes, phone the court, judges give different time periods
so you need to know what this judge said0 -

PM a Board Guide (links at the bottom of the thread list, one page back from this one). Board Guides are Crabman, savvy and soolin. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

d I was told i couldn't claim against the claimant as this was a fault of the courts not Excel.
But you can claim against the court officials.
I have done so twice, first time got a fulsome apology, second £100 compensation. I shall be making a third claim shortly, against a District Judge for failing to reply to my letters. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
