I was always open to firms about having a CCJ, never had an offer retracted.

I also make it perfectly clear when I approach agencies that I have a CCJ, explain the circumstances behind it, say I am in a DMP and insist they tell the firm about it and ask if they still want my CV, again never had a rejection over that either.

I've known people to be on the cusp of bankruptcy each month and be ok. They were even working towards qualifying and had to give a lot of info over to their regulator each month else risk up to £5k fine and suspension/strike off.

I've have people with IVAs who hid it, panic when the firm want to check everyone and suddenly they hand their notice in and leave.

Best thing is be open as that will overcome any barriers.

The reason some firms do this is due to their own indemnity insurance.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

Please don't let people scare you out of this. If you don't attend then you've lost already - there's every chance that they'll be fine with what they're seeing in your file, especially if you can explain your circumstances. :heart2:
The only person saving the OP is the OP! They've been told to explain this several times now!

Right now I'm in pieces so I just might not attend, I can't cope anymore.
This has been said several times. Stop scaring yourself. Tell them the truth now. You haven't lied, you haven't done anything wrong. The chances are that if you explain your situation, everything will be fine. Or you can continue to obsess and work yourself up into a panic... Just talk to them!

Carol, just go along, try to clear any pre-judged feelings from your mind, focus on all the positives, clear your mind, listen to the questions, take time and try to answer them.

Best of luck - go for it!
  • Calm down, you've had a difficult time and you're second guessing your employers views. Just go along , be honest and explain your circumstances if you need to.
  • Evening All,

Just wanted to say Thank you for all your comments.

I should not have worked myself up, everything went well, no issues.

    Thank you all again.

No they aren’t doing a credit check to see if they should earn you money.

They are doing it so they know who you are and for adverse financial checks.

    It will be this.

    No one cares younhave debt.
