Claiming Redundancy Questions

Hi Everyone

My father has recently been made redundant and needs to go through the process of claiming his unpaid wages. There was no official notice period given, just turned up one day and everyone was taken into the same room and told to go home as the company was closing (paraphrasing). I have a few questions about some specifics that I hope you can help me with, so we can make sure we enter the correct info when making the claim for redundancy.

1. He was sent home on Thursday morning, when calculating unpaid wages, do we only include Mon-Wed (the days of that week he actually worked)?

2. When starting he worked a "week in hand". Normally this is paid to you in your final payment when leaving a company. So presumably we claim for this week also?

3. He was told by some manager in his company that if we put the claim in before the company is inactive/dissolved then it won't get processed. He was given the information with a case number which brings up the correct information on the government website when entered (so the claim/case number must be active?). I've been checking companies house website waiting for the company status to change but is has not yet. To me this sounds like a load of tosh. Should we be waiting for the company to status to change, or should we be putting in the claim now?

I assume he's intending to claim from the insolvency service?

The paperwork provides a case number and tells us to go to https://www.gov.uk/claim-redundancy .

Get the JSA claim in first they deduct it anyway.
