Solarplicity in particular
You have to wait for them to produce a final bill first.
Suppliers usually are allowed 6 weeks to produce this after the actual switch occurs.
I just checked our records, and Solarplicity produced our final bill in a little over 3 weeks from actual switch. Of course, this can all depend on the new supplier completing all the switching correctly using the necessary tools to ensure the old supplier is aware the switch has taken place. It is the responsibilty of the new supplier to ensure the entire management of the actual switch is handled correctly.
Sounds like something was not done correctly by the new supplier, if Solarplicity were not immedaitely aware on checking your files that they were no longer supplying you. That, of course, would explain any delay in Solarplicity producing you a final bill.
But as I said, it sounds like you are on top of things now

There is a relatively easy way of checking whether switch readings have been validated. In my experience, gaining suppliers tend to wait for industry-validated meter readings before setting up online accounts. But I know what my final bill will be because I have worked it out myself.

You may have worked out the final bill youserlf, but does the supplier agree?
Until they issue a final bill, and they usually have 6 weeks from the last day they supplied you to do so, then the discussion is academic.
As pointed out by others above, the final bill usually has a due date on it.0 -

I don't think that Solarplicity is one, so you could end up waiting even longer.

I suspect the OP has not waited 6 weeks yet, but should I be wrong, as the supplier promises to produce a final bill within 6 weeks that itself would be grounds for complaint.
Nothing to stop the old supplier producing a bill based on estimated readings. Indeed that is, I suggest, what they should do if after 6 weeks the new supplier fails to provide the old supplier with the readings.
I have used that approach previously with another supplier with success. (although they did not need to estimate the readings as I provided both old and new suppliers the same meter readings on the switch day, using the online accounts of both suppliers)0 -
As the 'OP' I can confirm that I have waited 10 weeks....
I will give them another week then start a written complaint by post as they NEVER EVER answer emails.
And also for the avoidance of doubt I gave both old & new suppliers online meter readings at the same time.0
