Hi there,
I live in Inverness, Scotland, in a 2 bedroom semi-detached house and have an ancient gas boiler (>20y old) which is working ok currently with central heating too but I want to replace is for efficiency sake and also expecting it will break at some points soon which would mean I would need to replace the whole thing anyway.
I got a quote for the work which included:
- Drain system and remove boiler and hot water tank. Brick up old boiler flue hole.
- Install new Worcester 34CDI Classic Combi boiler with flue going through the wall.
- Install Worcester Comfort 2 controller and Worcester filter.
- Run gas pipe around the outside of the house and bury Gas pipe in front lawn.
- Flush system and add inhibitor.
- Issue Gas certificate, service gas fire and check cooker.
- Electrical works to be carried out by my electrician.
I was quoted: £3,350.00 (with £2000 deposit prior to work commencing).
Is this a reasonable quote for such work? Or should I keep looking for something more reasonable? If any more details would be helpful then please let me know.
Thanks,
Alan
