Yesterday at my mill I received a cv from a candidate who had just completed a MSc. It was a mailshot cv, not tailored to the positions we are offering, spelling was atrocious. He was rejected.
Tip, you have to tell me in the first paragraph why you are suited to my vacancy! Tailor this and you will stand a chance!0 -
He was rejected by you or by the employer you forwarded the CV to?0

Thanks everyone.
Following this, one really good recruiter found me a great role. I received an offer this afternoon which I have accepted.
Thankfully no more than 2 weeks searching but recruiters have driven me mad!
One I chased for an update last week has finally come back with an interview date of 13th November!!!!0 -

Congratulations and well done.0 -
That is how recruiter does their job, they don't actually tell the candidates on whether they make it to the cut or not. Congratulations on your new job. I wish you all the best!0

If BoP is a recruiter of some form - rejected by him as unsuitable for forwarding to the employer.
Isn't that part of what an employer pays the recruiter for?I need to think of something new here...0 -
Some agencies are annoying for doing this. As someone mentioned earlier, agencies do like to look at C.Vs and call the companies listed on the CV to sell their services.
Whenever I was looking for a job, I would literally cut out the middle man and go to the direct employer.0 -
Talking of companies contacting you then not being serious, it seems the tables turned and the casual attitude of recruiters is blamed for millenials also not being serious when applying for jobs nowadays:
