Problem switching through Energy club
I can't seem to get the Money Saving Expert Energy Club switching tool to work when trying to switch to Avro Energy. An unknown phone number inserts itself into the relevant field and cannot be removed. If I try to push the switch through regardless, it refuses to accept the number. I'm a bit concerned about all this since I typed in my bank details.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, unfortunately, even after doing what you suggest, the problem persists. I have tried using another browser and have also tried to log into my Energy Club Account from someone else's smartphone (I do not have one myself) but I still get the same thing.
I suspect that there must be a problem with my Energy Club account. I have emailed the club to see if they can help. If I get any kind of useful explanation I will post the details on the forum.0 -
All sorted now. I thought that I had to delete the existing number in order for me to be able to add another and I could not do this. However, I just had to type the replacement number in at the prompt! I'm afraid this is the just the kind of problem (so basic that it does not occur to other people) that crops up when you are in your 80s and don't use computers much!0

Hi There
I applied to switch my dual fuel supplier via the Cheap Energy Club (CEC) but heard nothing from the new supplier, EDF. As advised by by the CEC I contacted EDF (eventually after several unanswered calls) and was told that no communication had been received from the CEC regarding my switch, even though my account with the CEC states 'switch in progress'. I was advised to contact the CEC to try and establish what has gone wrong.
Additionally, my CEC account states I can cancel the switch 'within 14 days of application', but I am now 21 days into the process?
I have now emailed both EDF and the CEC to try and sort this matter, but as my current deal expires on Sunday I am not hopeful of getting a resolution by then, or obtaining the cheapest deal as it was when I applied.
Anybody else had these problems?0 -

Hi there.
I see you've been with us for quite a while, almost 2 years, despite this being your first post.
There are threads on this already, and it would have been best to refer to those that disrupt this user's thread on a different topic.
Those other threads have the answer, or you could just look at the Cheap Energy Club's FAQs page to enlighten yourself.0 -
You should just use cec as a guide, for example they quoted bulb, but by using the referral posts, I got more off . You might also find that cashback sites give you a better deal.. CEC is great, but dont take as gospel.0

As a general point, provided a supplier receives notification via industry procedures that a transfer is in progress no later than end of contract date plus 20 days, you will have price (tariff) protection until the transfer goes through. It doesn't follow that the deal that you finally select will be as cheap as that offered by EDF. Try and resolve this first. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Thank you for your response. Once I get used to these Forum's and how they operate, I'm sure I'll become more adept and not interrupt a thread that's not suitable.0
