P4Parking, Edinburgh, Appeal Dismissed

Hi there,

I recently got a ticket from P4Parking and have already had an appeal dismissed - I know shouldn't have responded but only found this forum afterwards.

I can't respond to the dismissed appeal so what do I do know?

Do I just ignore them?

Thanks.

You could try complaining to the landowner.

Whatever you do, do not give away clues to the driver's identity.
That is particularly important in Scotland.
I hope your original appeal didn't do that.

It's a student flat. So is the landlord the same thing?

Also, they don't give a transcript of your appeal so I cant remember if I did that or not

In that case the safest option is probably to ignore it. The landowner may well not be helpful if they were the ones who contracted the ppc.

Is that okay even though I've already appealed and potentially given away who was the driver?

Either that or pay it which I wouldn't recommend.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the House of Commons recently

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Of course it's OK. Search this forum for Scotland, this is already covered.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
