Videographer breached contract

Hi,
I got married on 23.09.17 and paid in full for a videographer and "complimentary" drone footage.
12 months on I am yet to receive any edited footage of the day. (I say edited as I was lied to on so many occasions as to why we didn't have our video I asked for a copy of the raw footage to prove there was actually some footage taken)
I have chased the edited footage with the videographer as it states that the "snippet" film should have been received within a few weeks, and the fully edited film within approx 8-12 weeks. After being fobbed off with various lies when I chased the videographer he then pointed out his clause which states (in the small print that it can take up to 12 months.
12 months has now passed and I am yet to hear anything, could someone please point me in the best direction to take this further.
Thank you so much for any advice

Was the quote broken down in any way? I presume you've already paid? If yes, by what means? (Credit card I hope).
He obviously attended the wedding and took footage, but he hasn't fulfilled the entirety of the contract. Therefore you are entitled to reclaim costs for the unfulfilled part ... either per the quote, or by you getting 3 quotes for others to edit the raw footage and then claiming a reasonable value based on those quotes.
Any claim would wither be via Small Claims Court, or (if paid by CC) as a Section 75 claim against the card provider.0 -
Hi
Thank you for your response.
It's a no to both parts of your question I'm afraid. No, there is no breakdown for the editing part, and no, I paid by bank transfer rather than by CC.
Could you offer any advice on the next process please? Would I contact him (again) first? Or look at starting to get the three quotes and going through the small claims process?

If it were me I'd do both in parallel ...
1) Get the 3 quotes
2) Send him an LBA (letter before action - templates available online) outlining:
(a) Requirement for him to supply the edited footage as per contract by X date
(b) Failure to comply with (a) will lead you to commission another supplier to edit the raw footage, and a claim in the County Court will be raised to recover the costs incurred.
Then follow through with a claim via MCOL (Money Claim Online) if you need to invoke item (b).0
