POPLA Fine

Good Morning!

I'm sure we've all had this story before but... I parked in central Manchester, paid for parking for 3 hours and unfortunately by the time I left the car park, it was 24 minutes over; Its a Euro Car Parks operation.

I followed the internal complaint, they refused and then I did the POPLA one. No joy, they sent a transcript from a previous court case (I think) and said you have to pay.

So I now have a bill of £100. Do I do this or just ignore? What is advise? I was wrong in that I was 24 minutes late, however I had paid for 3 hours. Tricky!

If anyone wants any more details, let me know! Advice much appreciated!

Cheers

Search the forum for Euro POPLA lost and you will see what to do!

That you do what you agreed to and read the Newbies Sticky before posting incoherently.
  • Sorry I have searched but been unable to find anything concrete in relation! Can you assist with this specific?

This is as simple as shelling peas, you need to make an effort.

    Then you are searching wrong.

You put the keywords I said into 'search this forum' then 'advanced' search and then tick to change the default to - SHOW RESULTS AS POSTS.

Newbies Sticky, Post 3 covers this completely.
  • Thank you! :beer:I have read the Newbies thread and it suggests I should start a new thread if its a "claim" - which it has advised it is? I was in the wrong for being 24 minutes over what had been paid.

You have a court claim? Have you had genuine court papers?

My crystal ball tells me you haven't had a claim.

There is no court claim from ECP.

  • They have said that there will be if the due amount of £100 is not paid; This is my worry, I have read the relevant threads, however at the end of the day despite my paying the fee for parking, technically I do have a "debt" to them of the 24 minutes, which I thought gives them an advantage!
