There are numerous ways to claim PPI, most through claim companies. What's the cheapest easiest way to claim it?

Do you mean PPI or PIP? PIP is an abbreviation for a personal investment plan.

I would have assumed spelling mistake but you did it twice. So, maybe not.

  • I assumed Personal Incapacity Payment.

Try the Benefits board a few clicks down.

    Sorry, I did mean PPI!
  • In that case, the cheapest and easiest way is to post your complaint yourself.

Never buy stamps from claims companies - they can cost thousands, and they're not even rare ones.

My complaint? I haven't claimed yet! Sorry to sound a bit thick!
  • I assumed you wanted to make a complain about mis selling.

To make a claim on the insurance, you would write to the insurer, telling them what insurable event you have suffered - eg loss of job. They will then assess it and if successful, make the minimum payments on your loans/cards.

No, I want to start a claim for PPI, I got sent the forms to fill in, but I just wanted to see if there's a way to find out myself (somehow).
  • To make a claim, you do as I said above. Provide evidence of your job loss/illness or whatever basis you are claiming on the policy for. You just need to deal direct with the insurer.

Who has sent you the forms - and what do they say?

Claims Direct - they said just fill them in, send them back, and they'll do the rest.
  • They're not forms to make a claim on the policy.

They are forms to make a complaint about how the policy was mis sold to you. Is that what you want to do - make a mis selling complaint?

If so, contact the lender direct, fill out their own forms and post them yourselves. The only service Claims Direct are offering are to post it for you.
