Central heating issue after removing radiator

Hi,
We've recently had a radiator taken off for decorating. It's still unattached. I have an Alpha cd24c boiler with an Alpha wireless thermostat. The boiler is set to central heating setting (2).
I went to use the central heating for the first time since last winter today, and it didn't work.
The thermostat works fine, and when I use it to instruct the heating to turn on, the orange burner light (C) glows on the boiler. Good stuff.
However, that light then goes off after a minute or so, and still no heat.
I've tried leaving it on overnight and still no results.
Is there anything I need to do after disconnecting a radiator? I'm not sure if it's related to that or not. Or is there something else I need to be looking at?

Unless you've got a one-pipe system, it could well be a coincidence. This is the time people normally find out the heating is broken - after it's been off half the year.0

Does the pump run when you fire up?I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

What does the pressure gauge read ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
was the system re-pressurised after removing the radiator?0

Pressure looks good - right in the middle of the green zone.
However... I located the pump, turned the central heating on, and the pump certainly didn't feel or sound like it was doing anything.
Think I'm going to need to get a pro out to this one!0 -
