  • Hi ya chums and welcome to 'new faces' and returners on the forum.

Mrs TA glad you got a bit of me time and some relaxation You deserve it honey and anything that will relieve your stress levels is a must.

Well the sun is shining beautifully today and is due again tomorrow then I think that's it for awhile in the south of England so I made the most of it by having a nice stroll around the country park this morning instead of coffee morning at Dobbie's, plenty more Tuesdays when the weather is miserable to enjoy those :)

We won another two bottles of plonk last night so our wine stash is rising nicely.

Had to pick DGS Ben up from the station this morning and he was a bit down as he had broken up with his g/f last night, but his heart will mend and fingers crossed he gets the job on Friday after his second interview it will take his mind off his broken heart at least.
Lots of coffee ,TLC and there, there's from his Granny helped as well I think :)

DGD Jack seems to have settled into his Uni life happily thank goodness.

and best of all I have finished all those blessed 'baby balls ' that I promised for my DGD at last all 42 of them :):):) I am back knitting the big blanket for my DGS's wife Hayley in New York.

No rest for the weary in my house far too many things on the go at the moment

Hope everyone has a good day ,mid-way through the week already and another month has vanished into history,

    Cheers chums

Afternoon - we are still covered in thick grey cloud, windy and wet though it's very mild. There's a thin drizzle hanging about inbetween heavy rain bouts.

My teaching session was very good - one poor student couldn't get logged in from home and so had to get herself to the centre. She's on an island and the weather was so much worse than here on the mainland. That's diligence!

I only did a little shopping as I'm going down to Glasgow in the morning. The afternoon teaching can all be done by VC, especially as one of my two face to face students has pulled out and the other was off ill today. All the remaining students are on VC anyway so it won't matter to them.

Some more bulbs have been planted in the back garden, I did 25 before coming back in.

My time-limited eating regime is beginning to pay off :j I can wear my lovely Seasalt bright yellow rain jacket which has hung in the cupboard for too long. I'm also back into my favourite bra :rotfl: It's been three weeks so far, how long I can stick to it will have to be seen.

Organza_lace - nice to see you!

TA - how lovely to read that you are getting some 'down time' and relaxing treatments. The whole thing sounds as gentle and supportive as it could be, it all helps in awful times.

snoozer - what a time you've had, no wonder you're tired.

AOD - when I have a cold it's feels like the worst thing in the world! After much trial and error I now confine myself to bed, take paracetamol regularly and try very hard not to blow my nose too much. Blowing is meant irritate the nasal passages more. Very hard not to! I'm always wary of stuff which 'dries you up' as the mucus has to go somewhere and with me it's straight to my chest which makes me worse. Of course, it's horses for courses!

I've had some pea and ham soup with a couple of sausages cut up into it, now I could just doze. Hope not to. :rotfl:
  • Good afternoon :) I am smiling get because it is a glorious day - clear blue sky & warm sunshine - even the breeze is gentle & quite warm :D

Thank you for starting us off Holly :T & glad you had a successful day yesterday.

Welcome smiling_saver, just to join in - everyone is very friendly here :) & totally agree with Speky’s comments :T Another nosy one here :rotfl: which state are you in ?

    AoD, get well soon

ScarletRibbons, hope Mr Sandman visits tonight :) Like nannywindow I never find good ys deals :(

Nannywindow, hope your heart has stopped racing now  Enjoy your pottering day :D - I quite like those sort of days - you end up doing far more than you think :T

Camelot, as I won’t remember in a couple of days :o I hope you have a lovely w/e in the Netherlands :)

redruby - I do miss lighting a fire - it is always so cheerful & the warmth is wonderful - almost worth being cold just to light a fire :rotfl:

Nelski, I love the idea of a ‘vicious microwave’ - I almost fell off my chair :rotfl:

Gers, enjoy the wood burner - if you are nice & toasty indoors doesn't really matter what the weather is like :D

Lainey, repotting fuchsias - that reminds me I need to work out where to plant my heathers :)

WeeMidgie, well done on the fundraising :T

_taff, :naughty::naughty: - I will give you your lines - only 20 :rotfl:- ‘I will remember to do my homework’

Speky, you can still eat healthily - just need to whip up a sauce of some kind for TGFW :D
I get tired out just reading about all your activities :rotfl:

Snoozer, you SHOULD feel proud - 60 miles - makes me tired just reading about it :rotfl: as you can probably tell I am not the fittest of people :rotfl:

silver-oldie, ooh home grown lemons - in fact home grown anything :D & well done on the shopping :T

mehefin, the dreaded leylandii  - ok for quick growth but those who plant it seem to let it run riot  I do not envy you one jot at having to cut it down.

TA, sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday. The hospice seems to be doing a fine job for MrTA. And I am pleased to read that the family is looking after you :)

Csarina, hope you enjoy an uneventful afternoon tea:D

Bellabella, hope the dog food works out :)

Organza_Lace, sounds horrible :( If you are a ‘bath’person per haps treat yourself to a long soak :)

JackieO, the trumpets are blowing & the carriage is on its way to do a lap of honour :rotfl: no more baby balls - this year at least :rotfl: Congrats on winning more plonk :T

Got up early (for me) to make sure DSis would be on time for her doctor’s appointment. She then went shopping for items for her DS - as she is planning a trip to France soon. Got home, & told me she has even more health problems  cysts on her liver - so yet another trip to the hospital :( for scans.

After putting DH’s eye patch on again, I toddled off to the P.O. & then the sm - needed to buy some food for DSis as she doesn’t like the chilli which DH & I are having for the 4th night in a row:D DH has requested rice again :)
Have started on the housework but am having a peppermint tea out in the sunshine :D before getting back to it :D Seems a shame to waste the sunshine :rotfl:

hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day & (((hugs))) are available :D

Hi everyone, just back from Knit N Natter, not very many of us today, but plenty of chat, all lovely people. We have 2 expert knitters in the group who are always in great demand for helping with difficulties and putting things right:D I am only a token knitter, my arthritis made it too painful to do much for a long time and I have rather lost confidence (so many people producing excellent garments etc), but am making a pair of wrist warmers in some lovely Blue yarns from what was purchased as my retirement stash.

Lovely warm day again, more of mount washmore has been tackled, only 1 more load to go then need to change beds and start again:eek:

TA so pleased that you all benefited from the therapy session. Lovely of your SIL to bring the scissors in too. Hugs to Taff, Poppy, the TA family, Dumpling, Holly and all that are going through difficult time. Mrs SD fingers crossed that Mr SD's eye problem will be sorted out very soon. Organza_Lace I hope that whatever made you sick passes soon.

  • Well my day turned out better than I had expected, as Mr Fix It took me out to lunch :A:A. Such a lovely surprise :T. I think I'll hang on to him...... for now anyway :D
Organza L hope the sickness passes quickly
MaddieM Knit and natter sounds good. I think I would prefer the natter part best :D.
MrsSD we should start our own natter group, although I don't suppose anyone else would get a word in edgeways  :rotfl:
Gers keep up the good work with the weight loss. Glad you had a good teaching day.
TA glad you had a relaxing time with the reiki session. You of all people deserve it. I will have to google that though, as I haven't much idea about it :o
JackieO it wasn't very sunny here, just warm but overcast. I hope Ben is ok after his break-up, I'm sure Granny JackieO was on the case.
I might be late posting tomorrow as we are taking Dad to F.Foods over the mountain road. Wish me luck ! One minute he's complaining he can't walk far and the next he wants to go on to Trago Mills too. No way Jose . Trago will have to wait for another day, as we couldn't even do both in one day !
I think I'll have an early night, so I'm hoping for a nice dream tonight ..... mmmmm Patrick Swazye might be involved if I play my cards right :rotfl:

    Goodnight all xx
