New Home - Challenges
A. Developer said all ducting in and signed off by Openreach. Openreach disagreed. Result 4 week delay in getting BB.
B. Scottish Power said it would take up to 4 months to get meters logged on to National Database. I managed to get around this by talking to a new supplier. They took over the supply with the correct MPAN and MPRNs only to find that one meter was lodged against plot number and both had an incorrect postcode. After switch, it became clear that we also had an incorrect meter serial number lodged against our MPAN. All credit to Octopus Energy for sorting out the mess.
C. GDPR and anti- fraud checks. Try changing simple things like an address when a new owner has no way of confirming the new address, and even Banks will not accept online credit card and bank statements.
D. When is a mobile phone about as useful as a chocolate fire guard. Ans: when you move into a rural county.
PS We love our new home but it has been challenging. It might of course just be an age thing.

I hope you and Mrs. Hengus will be happy in your new home... And these utility companies better wake up and realise just who they are dealing with, methinks.
