energy efficionizing a new house

"Efficionizing"

is that even a word??

we're just completing on our new house. it needs a complete makeover and we will be extendin into the loft and getting an outhouse built.

I've done some reading online and wanted to get people's ideas about how to make the house energy efficient? we've got a healthy budget aside from the costs of the extension so can potentially invest in creating quite an energy efficient home.

so far i have:

1. energy efficient lighting
2. energy efficient appliances
3. triple glazing
4. loft insulation/wall cavity insulation
5. solar panels

What else could we consider when drawing up plans with builders/architects?
