How to calculate annual cost gas / elec from tarrif ?

Options
Can anyone either post or link to a site that explains how I can calculate my annual gas / elec costs based on 2 different tariffs from 2 providers for a given annual usage figure.

Gas usage: 19000 kWh per Year
Elec usage: 4000 kWh per Year

Going from :-

Gas Provider: EDF Energy
Gas Tariff: Blue+Heating Protect Jan20

Elec Provider: EDF Energy
Elec Tariff: Blue+Heating Protect Jan20

Moving to :-

Green Network Energy MSE 18 Month Fix Exclusive

Gas - Unit rate £0.1477 per kWh
Gas - Standing charge £0.1325 per day

Elec - Unit rate £0.0331 per kWh
Elec - Standing charge £0.1773 per day

Do the quoted prices inc VAT? Often suppliers' websites do not include VAT but prices shown on PCWs are VAT inclusive.

    The maths are simple:

Annual Stdg Charge = 365 x daily charge
Annual Unit Cost = usage in kWhs x daily charge.

PS I think that you might have the gas and electricity charges transposed. Nobody is paying 14.99p/kWh for gas.

Consult a comparison site and it will do the calculation for you :)

(and it'll include all the other bits of the tariff you fail to mention ;))

If you want to move to the Green Network Energy MSE 18 Month Fix Exclusive, you'll have to use the MSE Cheap Energy Club
    https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cheapenergyclub

or you could also apply via MoneySuperMarket.com, the owners of this site.

(But I think you'll miss out on the cashback if you use the latter)

    Edit:
Oh, I see you've already applied to switch and know the savings

Have you tried using a calculator? <Ducks>

Seriously, Hengus is right, those unit rates have to be transposed between gas and leccy. Also seriously, since you have not posted any unit rates or standing charges for EDF, it is a bit difficult to work out what they are/were charging you.

    19000 x £0.0331 = £628.90 + 365 x £0.1773 = £64.71 = £693.61 per annum.

    4000 x £0.1477 = £590.80 + 365 x £0.1325 = £48.36 = £639.16 per annum

    £693.61 + £ 639.16 = £1332.77 divided by 12 months = £111.06 per month.

Whether VAT is or is not included, I have no way of knowing. HTH.

If you want to do your own calculations instead of a price comparison site, I made a blank copy of the spreadsheet I created for the job here:

3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Octopus Flux

    standing charge £0.17p x 365days = £62

    Elec 4000 kWh x £0.15p ? = £600

    600 + 62 = £662 elec cost per year

example using approx figures to show how you calculate.

It's good to understand how you do it yourself
