Eurostar train cancelled, won't repay because purchased through Nectar

Options
Hi,

I posted about this a while back there has been another twist in this awful tale.

For my wife's 30th birthday, I arranged for us an overnight stay in Paris, using Eurostar (£200 return) for both legs of the journey. Unfortunately the service was severely affected by a tresspasser incident. After waiting for 3 hours in a crowded concourse with no seats available, we were informed that our train would be cancelled. We were no longer about to stay at our hotel and could not cancel it. I opened a case on resolver to try and get a refund, but they refused to issue a refund since I purchased the tickets through nectar (I used £40 worth of nectar points and paid the remaining £160 on my credit card) They suggested I take it up with Nectar.

I've not yet gone to Nectar but I can completely see them saying, sorry not our fault, go to Eurostar.

Total paid:
£160 for Eurostar tickets (credit card)
£40 Nectar voucher redeemed on Eurostar tickets
£70 hotel stay (Euro star will not cover)
£15 approx spend on food and sustainance while in Eurostar concourse waiting
£30 approx spent on travel to and from St. Pancras Internation by public transport

My Travel insurance excess is £150 (!) but covers up to £1000 for cancellation/curtailment

What should I do:
1. keep fighting with Eurostar for refund
2. Go to Nectar to ask for refund
3. Claim on travel insurance and pay £150 excess
4. Try and claim with credit card using section 75

Personally I'd ask Nectar what the procedure is supposed to be in your case and then go to section 75 claim if still unresolved.
