British Gas tariffs -"only available to selected customers"

There are a number of tariffs on British Gas tariffs page, only available to selected customers.

Does anyone know anything about these, how they work, how you get these tariffs ?

check the T&Cs for the tariff that you are interested in.

However, looking at their list, most the tariffs appear to have expired and wont be available to new customers anyway - look at the dates.

As an aside that page should be a legal requirement for all suppliers !

The ones that say only available to selected customers mean you need to be a BG customer, and when you login to your account and click "switch tariff" you see the ones you are eligible for.

The new cheapest ones at the top, 2 of those require you to get a smart meter fitted within 3 months otherwise they then switch you to the standard tariff.

Don't all energy suppliers have details of old tariffs somewhere ?
