Parking ticket received not my car

Hi
My partner received a ticket for a car using her registration number. She lives in Essex and the offence took place in Kent!! We phoned the ticket company and was told to report it to the police and to send them a letter with the police number on. We did this and they haven’t cancelled the claim and are still chasing her. She has ignored all other correspondence but has now received a letter from Gladstone’s titled letter before claim.
Can someone please help with some advice on what she should do next.
Thanks

Did you get the correspondence from the police? I think its called a FWIN (Force wide incident number) or some sort of 'Incident log number' this is gonna be your proof of your car being cloned and if of course you can PROVE you were not in the place when the ticket was issued all the better.
I would think a letter to Gladys explaining everything would not do any harm, don't expect a reply of course but in your circumstances its all about gathering all the evidence and putting it all in a nice neat file to SMASH EM!!!!! in court if they are stupid enough to pursue you (Which they are!!)
Edit: I just noticed you did send them police correspondence (skim reading again, DUH!!!!!, you will probably have to send it a dozen times to get them to actually read it.0 -
Is it Excel or VCS?
They do this a lot; they pretend that a person needs a 'crime number' even though the Police do not treat an unproven report of a cloned number-plate as a crime, and the Police will only give an Incident Number.
Look what happens if you don't sort this out with the DVLA now, you get Hell:
http://parking-prankster.blogspot.com/2017/02/flawed-anpr-misread-causes-2-years-of.html
You need to complain to the DVLA that this parking firm appears to have misread the number-plate of the car that WAS there, and obtained your data in error. Or, your number-plate really has been cloned. Either way, the DVLA need to explain why they gave out your data for an incident that did NOT involve your car.
The DVLA complaint email is in the NEWBIES FAQS thread, post #5.
AND step 2, at the same time:
Send the parking firm a SAR* and ask for the raw ANPR images (before they were 'enhanced') and all photos, and all file notes when the ANPR images were checked and who by/when, as you believe that there has been data misuse here and you object to the parking firm from processing your data whilst this is investigated.
Head that up:
SAR - RAW IMAGES REQUIRED - OBJECTION TO DATA PROCESSING
...and ideally email, or if no email, post that (with a free certificate of posting from the PO Counter - NOT 'signed for') to the contact details of their Data Protection Officer (DPO), on the privacy page of the parking firm's website.
Finish by telling the DPO that they MUST also inform Gladstones about the objection to processing and the fact this is a data error, it's not your car, and a SAR is in progress to check the raw images so that the DVLA can deal with a formal complaint.
I would also (step 3, to cover yourself) email** Gladstones yourself (the registered keeper) and tell them what you are doing and that there is an active Objection to Processing and SAR in with their client because this is not your car, it's either cloned or an error by their client when enhancing the VRN image their system took.
Tell Gs they MUST put the litigation on hold.

Hi
They sent a picture of the front of the car that was parked. It is the parking tickets where people take photos of parked cars, send it to the said company and then they issue a fine.
The number plates on the car in the picture do not match ours, which is why we questioned it and is also in a different county to where I live.
We did send the police incident number to them.
There is no ANPR used. The car was apparently parked on a residential area where permits are apparently required by the parking company not the council.0 -
which parking company issued the pcn or NTK ?0
-
There is a high probability this is a missread rather than a clone. The problem is that if you ignore it they will plough on with a claim regardless of how crazy this is.
As above contact the DVLA.0 -
Ukpcm I think0

The photo of the car clearly shows our reg number but we have the Euro “gb” plates and this one is a standard plain number plate0

OK so let us know how you get on with the 3 pronged approach already set out.
You can add a photo of your plates to the 3 emails, to show this car is not your car.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
