Wooden door thresholds

Anyone have them? Not really a fan of the metal ones if i can help it and i have solid oak skirtings throughout the house so thought it would tie in well.
The ones i’ve seen that are carpet to carpet seem to be a T bar but with no grippers in unlike the metal ones. The carpet company who is fitting my carpet suggested if i used these i’d have to use grippers either side and i’d probably feel them under foot.
Any advice?

In a very old house I owned there were wooden thresholds. When I had fitted carpets laid, I had a carpenter take up the thresholds, the carpets between the rooms joined in the middle of the doorway and the carpenter replaced the thresholds (and replaced a couple that were worn). No nasty metal strips.0

Those are the ones i would probably buy as i’ve recently fitted the whole house with skirting and architrave from there.
As my original post i can get T bars for the carpet to sit under nice and neat but the lack of grippers in them poses a problem compared to the generic metal T bars you can get.Things that are free in life are great, well most of the time :beer:0 -
Can you not fit normal gripper rod in front of the T Bars? The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Just stick the carpet down with spray adhesive.0

Is it the same carpet on either side of the door? I got the carpet fitter to join the carpet. IMHO, Looks so much nicer. He was not too happy at the "extra work" :-("A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
