Deleting WiFi connection?

Options
When I click the 'network connection/internet access' box it shows a connection (unsecured) that I wish to delete.
I believe I may have 'created' this connection when I first signed up to my ISP provider several years ago, any advice appreciated, thank you.

This might not be something you have created but a neighbours network you are seeing.

I had the same and kept connecting to this unknown network.
I removed it from the list using cmd line.
I will have a quick look for the instructions and get back to you soon.

  • I'm sure I 'created' it because I recognise the 'unique' name.
    Thanks for taking the time.

Why do you want to delete it? If it is because your machine keeps trying to connect to it then go to Network and Internet settings, click on WiFi the manage known networks. Left click on your troublesome one and then click forget

If it appears as an available connection when you click on the network icon in the bottom right of your screen then its because you have set up that connection on your router. Either rename the connection in your router or switch off wifi
  • Thank you 'people' for your time, seems to have fixed it now.

I would say because if the connection is coming from OP's router, and is open, anyone could have access to OP's network.

In that case the answer is the last bit of my post and nothing to do with doing anything on the pc/laptop

I would add that renaming the connection won't solve the problem, as you will still have an open connection, only with a different SSID.
If the connection is not in use, just remove it from the router.
