As I've also said previously, I'm not disputing that, for your transfers from your bank, those that you've made before 1pm have arrived same day, but that doesn't actually prove your theory so it is indeed incidental rather than definitive.

    Firstly it`s not MY theory.

I`m going to keep this very simple just for your benefit.

I wanted to know when I needed to send money by for it to appear in my account the same day.
I phoned CSB and was told before 1pm.
This I did and it duly arrived the same day.

You can easily phone and ask, but you would rather post ten times on here with your theory than get the correct info from the "horses mouth".

You seem the type who always needs to have the last word on everything, so I`ll let you.

I'm not in the slightest bit interested in what CSB staff say on the phone because even if they did say 1pm, those of us who are capable of understanding how Faster Payments works know that they can't promise something that's outside of their control, so CSB's comments would carry no weight.

You seem to struggle to get to grips with the fact that CSB aren't "the horse's mouth" when it comes to transaction timescales within the control of other banks, so in simply accepting their opinions at face value, I'm afraid it's another part of equine anatomy that springs to mind....

You really are a total ar*e.

The bank will tell you, if you ring them, what the cut off time is.
But they are wrong according to you, someone who has never even tried to make a payment either side of 1 pm.

Anyone, after reading this thread, will make the payment before 1 pm and take no notice of your posts.

I don`t see how you can continue to have an account with CSB after what you have said about their customer service.

I always feel that when you resort to personal insults you have lost whatever argument you had. I suggest you edit or remove your post before it's removed

That particular ship sailed some time ago now!

No, they'd be right for some people, perhaps even most, but my point is that it can't possibly be right for all and therefore shouldn't be misrepresented as a universal fact.

Eh? You're just making stuff up now. Tell me, how did I fund my CSB account?

....which is what concerns me - if you're convinced about your 1pm cutoff time then that's your problem. If you keep claiming that it applies to everyone else, then you may end up costing someone money if they believe you, despite the many obvious reasons why they shouldn't.

I treat them the same as any other financial institution and put my money with them if I feel that the product is appropriate for my needs. I really don't care about 'customer service' (in the sense it's often referred to on here) and can't remember the last time I felt the need to phone any of my banks, but would always go by written Ts & Cs anyway - this forum is littered with examples of how undertrained and underpaid junior customer service reps give out inaccurate information, so I'd always treat their comments with a pinch of salt and seek independent verification where possible....

You're correct. I do wonder why do people put so much effort into arguing about something so trivial. This is where everything goes to pot. There are 1,598,678 more important things. I won't be discussing whether that figure should be higher or lower or whether it is trivial because it's too trivial.

Meanwhile, or long before, Charter Savings Bank received my money in good enough time.
