5 years proof of address

I'm 22 and I need 5 years proof of address for Social housing.

They require "1 document per month for 5 years" (THAT'S ALOT)

1. I live with family so I don't have any bills to my name
2. I haven't intentionally kept any mail for the past 5 years. (I have a few laying around, but definitely not 5 years worth) Maybe my college letters, university letters...
3. Last option: BANK STATEMENTS. 5 years worth of bank statements? (Also they do 3 months per statements so... it won't even add up to "1 doc per month".

UPDATE:

4. I called up my bank and they said it would be too much to print off that many documents. They suggest writing me a letter stating I've been living at the current address for over 5 years. (Does anyone accept this as a proof of address?)

Any suggestions?

  • Could you go to your bank and request previous bank statements? Would they change yours to a month per statement?

I'm with LLoyds and recently enquired about previous statements. They go back as far as you like (within reason) for a one-off charge.
  • Are you saying you need 60 documents..? That can't be right. Sure you don't just need to provide address details over 5 years (month and year for each change) and proof of your current address?
  • I just called them up and they are unable to print it off monthly...

Are you sure that you need monthly evidence?

As an example, Stevenage BC says
    Application for housing

Proof of Residence - Please provide proof of continuous residency in Stevenage for the last five years for each applicant. One proof for each year for each applicant, the current year should be showing a date within the last six months.

They need evidence that I've been living in Lewisham for 5 years. So yes my current address. She told me on the phone 1 document per month.

Rent privately. Social housing will probably take years.
    It's nothing , not nothink.

Maybe it's different because I'm applying for the Lewisham one.
  • How on earth are you getting on the social housing list at 22 with no mention of kids or significant disability?

No mention does not mean no disability for a start.
You just have to live in the area for a fixed term here to apply.
How long you wait is another matter.

Young couples in my council area get houses in hard to let areas. No children or disabilities needed.
