Coil and diverter for Baxi Combi 105e

Options
Hi,

My partners' mum had an plumbing issue and a family friend turned what they thought was a screw to drain the system (Baxi Combi). When a plumber came out to finish everything, he has told her that this screw unwound the coil, rendering it broken. As the diverter valve was already on the blink, he has quoted £750 to fix the coil and diverter valve, and recommended they just get a new boiler.

I know Googling makes me no expert, but it just doesn't look like replacing the coil (and maybe the cylinder?) and diverter is *that* big a job - can anyone tell me if this needs a second opinion?

Thank you very much,
Sam
