genuine pre-estimated loss appeal

You have absolutely no chance of winning an initial appeal with a PPC, especially one affiliated to the IPC. And the IPC's second stage appeal service will offer you no succour either.I'm not sure if I have a chance of winning the appeal.
The signage is often your strongest card as that is the purported contract between the PPC and the driver. You can't just assume it's 'adequate'.
I'm afraid that unless you can get a landowner cancellation, you're in this for the long run and may have to defend it in court.
But for now, please read post #1 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, as that will explains things in much more detail than I have here. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks, no problem I will pop down to Barker and Stonehouse and see if I can get them to cancel it...
Although obviously not bought at the time I parked there, I have a receipt for a table that was bought for £1400, so fingers crossed this hopefully may help persuade them.
Thanks again for your helpful reply and being a bit more understanding Umkomaas. :beer:0 -
ask them about how to return the table ... as you have now been invoiced £100 for the pleasure of shopping with them ...

You tell us that you are proposing to include this in your appeal:
But in the line above, you state that the sign says:As the store was closed a permit could not be collected, the signage does not state anything about not parking there when the store is closed.
Signage seems quite clear to me.All vehicles without a parking permit will receive a parking fine0 -
But exactly what does the signage say? You say:The signage was probably adequate so I feel if I reply with the standard blue template they will just throw it in the bin.
If they really have used the word "fine", then they've shot themselves in the foot. However, I suspect that's not what it says. You need to be very precise in these cases, never paraphrase, always quote verbatim. The signage states “CUSTOMERS CAN OBTAIN A PARKING PERMIT FROM INSIDE THE STORE – All vehicles without a parking permit will receive a parking fine”
So, what Do the signs say? A photo would be ideal.0 -
@op
As advised in #4, send the template appeal as is!
You need more editing of your OP and subsequent posts where you have given details of who was driving!0 -
Please let us know how you get on with the Store Manager complaint. You were clearly window shopping. Thanks, no problem I will pop down to Barker and Stonehouse and see if I can get them to cancel it...
Although obviously not bought at the time I parked there, I have a receipt for a table that was bought for £1400, so fingers crossed this hopefully may help persuade them.
And while you are there, take photos of the signs then come back & show us.
Finally, can you hit EDIT and then ADVANCED EDIT under your first post above and change the title to something like:
VCS PCN - after store had closed - no offer of parking?
Because we don't want Newbies seeing your thread title and thinking GPEOL has legs. Remove the title please, as it will also stop us even clicking on your thread, it jars to see anything about GPEOL.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Maybe sending him/her a PM will elicit a response.3 -
The OP's profile shows Last active 21 September 2018 at 8:27AM ... I guess that actually means Last login as they posted above later than that. But on that basis I'd estimate they've not been back to the forum for over 2 years. Perhaps send them a PM and they might get an email notification?Jenni x3
