hi
I have a new job who want to credit check me
I had an IVA 4 years ago which my ex ran up about £40k of debt in my name and then he got me in an iva to try and clear the mess he made.
i only found out about this by chance a i checked my report.
The IVA company didnt believe me as he had used his personal knowledge of me to pretend to be me.
he decided to abscond and I ended up with a windfall so i settled the IVa within a year
so long story short - this is going to stop me from getting the job right?? i'm so mad!!

Depends what the job is?
Unless it's for a bank of financial institution they will generally do identity checks and money laundering checks0 -
Hi emmiebelle28
As !!! says, it is likely to depend on the type of job. The IVA will be recorded on your credit file for 6 years so they will see you have had one.
You could explain the situation with your ex partner and ask them to take that into account. Did you ever report the fraud as that may help your case.
Best wishes
Susie
