Mangar Airflo Mk 3 - battery not charging

My elderly in-laws purchased a Mangar Airflo Mk 3 bath lifting cushion (probably not the correct technical term!) a few years ago. It has received very little use, they both use showers rather than baths these days but the unit stopped charging a while back. Rather than just scrap it I'd like to repair it and sell it for them. A replacement battery is about £25. Has anyone else used one of these units and had charging problems? If so, did replacing the batter work or was there another problem.

Any advice gratefully received!

  • For £25 I'd try a new battery first and see if that works.
  • Thanks V, good point. Will try it and see but odd that it failed so quickly if that's the problem - they'd only used it 20 or so times.

Could be like the batteries in a mobility scooter - if they are not kept charged then they lose their effectiveness and do not charge if left for some time.

If you know what model the battery is, try sourcing one from ebay or somewhere similar, could be cheaper than £25.
