Musical instruments no bother - window cleaner at the end of the street and refuse lorry reversing are the only things that upset ours.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

My sons plays the bagpipes and his cat has now started to run away when he sees him. Join the queue I hear you say!
He doesn't like the bin lorry or the vacuum cleaner either.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
Only those not the beast from hell ie vacuum cleaner? Never had a cat who doesn't hate the cleaner. This week it took 3 days to find a time to clean the front room because all 4 were spread around asleep, you can't move a sleeping cat can you
My cat doesn't mind the hoover at all and in fact I sometimes hoover her with the hand-held part to get all the loose hairs
None of my cats have had a problem with musical instruments, although one did pee in my husband's guitar case. He never did get the smell out!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

You must have a cat in a million if he/she doen't mind the cleaner
Try vinegar/ bio washing liquid / bicarb for getting rid of smells. Depending on how long ago it happened try leaving a container of bicarb in the case, not sure what it would do to the humidity though for the guitar.0 -

I don't think I'd ever be able to use that case again..! And they're not cheap to replace... *note to self, close case after removing instrument*0 -

Everyone's a critic …0 -
Would playing music yourself really be that much different from people listening to recorded music? There'd be millions of unhappy cats around if that were the case!0

Do you play an instrument? Do you realise how repetitive practise, as opposed to just playing, can be? The same bar played 10 or 15 times to just get it right can be terribly annoying to a listener. Cats are very sensitive to sound.0 -

It's quite a bit louder, and I need to practice the extremes of pitch that don't make it into (sane) pieces. Some of my intonation exercises are unpleasant to listen to as well. I think live instruments will have more higherharmonics in the sound than recordings, which cats will hear differently to humans.0
