Failed Credit check for Bank job

So, I've been told by an employment agency that I've failed a credit check for a position with Santander. Now, I've seen my latest credit report and I have just two amber AA's early arrears from October 2016. Those accounts were brought up to date very quickly and I have no CCJ's or defaults. I've tried to speak to somebody at the agency and they are stonewalling me.

They're unlikely to give you details of why you failed.
However, remember that you have more than one credit file.0 -

The agency does not know what criteria Santander use or what CRA(s) they use either. Santander won't tell you either.
If you failed, you failed, There is nothing you can do about it,0 -
Getting employment within the banking sector with any sort of previous negative financial history can be difficult. I'd hazard a guess that your "just two ambers" stand out like a pair of massive red flags to a high street bank who are potentially looking for a "completely spotless record" across the board.(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)0

I understand it either comes back with a pass or fail. The employment would not know anything more.0
