How to best use economy 7 water systems please?

Thanks. Is there anything else I can check to make sure it's definitely not working? I just don't want to get in touch with the landlord, them send someone out only to find it's find and I've made a silly mistake.

Tell the landlord you don't have hot water and let them sort it out.

Oh of course I will do if I can't suss anything out, I just want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious which I could be being as I'm not used to this system.

I've just had a look at the water heater again and noticed that the light on the switch isn't on. I'm guessing that means something but I'm not sure what? I'd be grateful for any tips please! Maybe the light on the switch only comes on during the night? I'll have to stay up and see I guess...

So the light on the switch did go on overnight so I'm no further forward...

You are further forward - you now know that (off-peak) power is present at the switch.

Now follow the advice in posts #11 and/or #13 above.

Thanks! Hopefully I can get this sorted quickly! I don't mind the odd cold shower but all the time is getting wearing!

Maintenance guy came round this morning and tried a couple of things and then decided it's likely completely knackered so is putting in an order for a new one. Not sure how long that will take though, what would be a reasonable timescale please?

So the small tank, which I thought was the booster tank but maybe I'm wrong, was replaced yesterday which was a little confusing as it was the big tank, what I thought was the main one, that wasn't giving any hot water. Sure enough no hot water today, the switch has been left on for the past few days. Any idea of what their thinking re the above was? Again am I missing something? Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
