Default Help - Eon

Hi,
Looking for some advice, I have already challenged Eon but they have advised me that they are correct.
I had a default warning notice on my energy bill last year, if I didn't pay or set up a plan. A plan was set up, however it failed at the end of December as I couldn't afford to pay it that month.
They sent another default notice letter on 5th March 2018, originally they said that they didn't hear from me so it defaulted at the end of March, however after challenging with their legal team they have said I was correct (I did in fact get in touch during March to arrange another payment plan). However the payment plan then failed again in April, and they have marked it as a default for April straight away.
I cleared the whole balance in full in May and it is now showing settled, but the default is still there.
Is this correct or am I correct in thinking that the April Default shouldn't stand? The new payment plan was set up in March but failed in April, it shouldn't automatically default, as it didn't on the prior plan. Also as I paid in full in May, 2 months or just under since I asked for the payment plan.
Me and my wife are looking into buying a house and my last default is from 2014, now this is going to hinder me quite a lot so I want to make sure if I do have a case that I go back to them properly.

You failed on multiple occasions so I think it's fair to mark the account as defaulted.
The payment plan/relationship between you and Eon broke down0 -
It's correct - accounts should be defaulted within 6 months of the initial default.
The payment plan doesn't change the fact that you had defaulted on payments.
You could try appealing for some goodwill You may get lucky but it looks unlikely.0 -

Well the original default notice was for Nov 17, 6 months from that would be May, which I paid in full?
Just wondered if there would be some grounds to appeal, maybe some similar cases.
They did offer me £25 goodwill however I have not seen it yet.0 -

You can try to appeal.
The goodwill gesture will come as a cheque usually - but don't expect them to remove the default as well0
