I have fibre broadband and I want to buy a powerline and pass through kit but is it best to buy one made by netgear or tp link and will I need a 600Mbps or 1000Mbps.

Buy whichever 1 fits in your budget and requirements, just do your research.0

Netgear is generally a better option than TP-Link, but since it's only powerline adaptors, whichever you like. Note that some units come with integrated wireless access point, others don't.
600/1000 is plenty in any case, as long as you don't have a Gigabit fibre connection. If you are on a more traditional 50 or even 100Mbps, you are fine with either.0 -

Also, like wireless data transmission, in practice you are never going to get the 'nominal' speeds with powerline/homeplugs. Divide by about 3-5 to get real-world speeds. These numbers also vary depending upon mains wiring quality and the distance between the plugs, also whether the data is travelling across ring mains..0 -

I use this

Though the replacement appears cheaper so would go for that these days.

The higher rated stuff is important on the powerline things as they use better technology and in some house's you will get a massive loss and the older kit really did not work, the speed is not the network speed you would get (the 500's were often sold with a 100 network port as you would not be getting and faster).0 -
Let's tackle the unasked question ... why do you think you need powerline adaptors?0

This statement presumes that you do not want to transfer files across your LAN, from one PC to another, say. If that applies, you want the fastest transmission speed possible.0

Presumably because;
a. All wifi is useless. And thowing repeaters at it is just expensive and maybe they want to game and get rid of the lag (Yes I know powerline is more laggy than wired, but nowhere near wifi).
b. No inclination to put in cable, which could be for a multitude of reasons.
That would be the standard reasons!0 -

Of course, otherwise I presume OP would have said that. If you need to transfer files you need to go Gigabit, no doubts there.
Gigabit ports really don't matter much. But internally youi do want the powerline but to use at least 1000 (or 2000) becuase you need it there because of better protocol and to actually maintain reliablility of even a 100 conenction. However does any repulable manufacturer sell without gigabit? I adds what a few pencec to the cost for them.0
