For those who haven't noticed, MSE have launched two collective switches.

Am i switching? No.
After long deliberation and two months into my latest fix, it was still cheaper than even E.on's latest offering so i decided to stay with what i have.
I'm a risk taker but it seems to work? :rotfl:

Just took the plunge with this Green Network Energy following publication of MSE's Big Switch Event 11 yesterday. Not one of the 'Big 6', but they had the best active deal today as confirmed via the CEC, and I'll be out of contract with another non - Big 6 (First Utility) supplier from the 31st of October, so now was the right time to switch. A thumbs up to 'First Utility' with whom the last year has been seamless, and I'd have gladly remained with them had they been able to continue actively competing... I'll now be paying £27/month for 18 months (Green Network Energy), in lieu of £24/month for 12 months (First Utility), not the most painful increase by a long margin!0

Nah.
Daily SC's more than double my current SC's and unit rates per kwh both more expensive, too.
No reason to switch.Fred - Where's your get up and go?

I'm with Outfox the market - variable of course, but no complaints after several months.
To switch now under the 11 fix I’d be paying an extra £143 per annum so have decided to stay put meantime and review if / when Outfox put prices up. I can always change provider if I feel there’s a better deal going in the future.
I realise there’s a saying about a bird in the hand, but at the moment I’m prepared to give Outfox the benefit of the doubt, and hope they will keep any increase to the minimum.0 -
I just checked on CEC and for me (5800kWh/year) will cost me an extra £113 a year over Eversmart.
Think I'll be staying put!0 -
Well yes, what's best for an individual all depends on expiry date of current contract +/- time of year.
For me, the only firm capable of beating 'Green Network Energy' today were 'Enstroga',
but with the latter having the caveat "MSE Customer Service Rating: Not enough feedback yet"...0 -
Just be wary, CEC had my Bulb tariffs completely wrong so making deals look better than they actually were, electric tariff way higher than what Bulb is increasing upto in Nov!
So check your tariffs0 -
I've switched to Green, will save me approx £20 pm and of course fixed for 18 months.0

Thanks for the advice... Thankfully I checked with First Utility beforehand, and they confirmed they couldn't match their last year's deal, thus Enstroga aside, Green Network Energy were the cheapest this time this year...boxingclever wrote: »Just be wary, CEC had my Bulb tariffs completely wrong so making deals look better than they actually were, electric tariff way higher than what Bulb is increasing upto in Nov!

I'm with Pure Planet allegedly variable wholesale price., was better than anything else even beat Outfox.
Its been a long time since I've been on a variable rate is it still, the case that if they increase the price you can reject the increase and they have to keep you on the old price until you switch ?The greatest prediction of your future is your daily actions.0 -

Yes I believe that is generally the case, but...
You will be given advice of any change in price in advance. With some suppliers taking as little as 17 days from application to actual switch, you can generally now complete a switch of supplier during that notice period.
If the actual switch occurs after the price change would otherwise come into effect, the supplier usually allows a few days for the switch to complete (typically about 20 days max) where you should remain on the pre-increase price.
However, this only applies if :
(a) the supplier is made aware before the original planned price increase by the new supplier that a switch is in progress.
(that could be difficult to prove, unless Pure Planet issue you a 'sorry you are leaving' letter before the price increase date.)
(b) the switch does then occur within the permitted 'window' I indicated above.0
