MSE Cheap Energy Club let me down and cost me money

3 weeks ago I applied to switch my energy supplier through the MSE Cheap Energy Club and received an email from them saying that the switch was under way. This morning, having heard nothing since, I contacted the energy supplier who said that they had never heard of me and that MSE had not told them of my switch. Thats 3 wasted weeks of paying my old (higher) energy rate. MSE has saved me lots of money in the past and so I will let this one go but be warned that this can happen. Its worth contacting your new energy supplier yourself soon after your application to switch to make sure that MSE have done their bit properly. If its happened to me its probably happened to others.

I switched on the 12th. Over 5 working days ago now. It's a switch with the same supplier (PCW only tariff) so I'd have expected to hear something by now, but nothing. Definitely going to have to chase them up today.
Edit: In case this helps anyone else. According to E.ON live chat (which connected almost immediately for a change - which was nice) it has gone through, but they take 14 days (despite the fact there's no cooling off period) before informing the customer.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). I'm with EDF and switched to their new tariff on 20th aug via MSE, confirmation only took place few days ago so about 3 weeks too. You can always email to get updates from MSEs end: energyclub@moneysavingexpert.com
In case of EDF they back dated tariff billing to 24th Aug or something so they definitely received the request within days.0 -

The experience you quote appears to not be uncommon as it is an example given in the MSE FAQs.
They say not to get too excited if the supplier denies all knowledge - it seems a common response by suppliers' phone jockeys.
You obviously haven't read the FAQs have you?0
