Hi, I have just bought the Command and Conquer 3: Tiberian Wars. I put in CD to load the game. It loaded up fine however it won't let me play it. A message appears saying "Direct X 9 - check to see if you have the minimum requirements and hardware accelator is on".
I have Direct X9 on my computer, the hardware accelator is on and the only minimum requirement that I am unsure of is the video card I have is a 64 mb and the game asks for 64 mb.. My computer tells me that 6mb of the video card is in use.
Would this stop the game from working. Desperate to get started on this game - am a complete fan and would love to get some advice if anyone can help!
Thanks very much

Have you DirectX 9.0c installed? If you have, try re-installing it0

It doesn't sound like your graphics card is upto it............what sort is it, I'll take a guess that it uses shared memory. You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
yup im guessing its shared memory so doenst actually have 64mb.
you can easily pick up a decent 256mb card for little on ebay.
hell my spare mobo has a 512mb GF card0 -
Hi there,
thanks for such a quick response. I will try to re-install the directx9.
Also my graphics card is shared? Is the only option to buy one with a higher mb? money being tight i am hoping that there is something else I could try?
Really appreciate your help.

The amount of memory a graphics card has isn't actually all that important, it's more about the chipset and generation of the graphics card. My current card has 256 MiB but it's a very old FX 5700 and probably wouldn't be able to play C&C3 either. It struggles with just C&C Generals."She is quite the oddball. Try this site: www.yougamers.com
The check for C&C3 game direct link is below
http://www.yougamers.com/gameometer/10151
It will install a small program (it's safe) and scan your system then tell you if your pc can run the game, the min. specs required, their realistic min. specs, advise why you don't meet them and what you do need."She is quite the oddball. Hi,
Superscaper, I followed the link and now realise just how out-of-date my PC is.
