BG UNLIMITED Tarrif

I received their personalised invite but our household usage exceeds their maximum consumption limit.
When I reduced my figures to dip just under the threshold (by 1200kwh for elec and 5000 kwh for gas), the monthly figure was still higher than I am currently paying.
Could be good for some though if they fancy whacking up the heating 24/7 but hardly in keeping with their environmental responsibility obligations as there is no incentive to try and reduce energy consumption.• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -

Except they have caveats, so you can't do that, or should I say it's only unlimited in the terms on mobile phone tariffs are unlimited when they aren't. The caveat being you don't use 50% more than last year.
I appreciate that, but it does allow you to use 50% more energy than "necessary" effectively free of charge.
Also (IIRC as I didn't read it thoroughly due to not being eligible) my documentation said that if usage exceeded 50% they would ask you to confirm that this was for "normal domestic use" so it was only suggesting that it would generate an investigation, not necessarily any kind of immediate penalty.• The rich buy assets.
