My own update isn't particularly good. As a result of my F&F offers, one creditor has already settled (all negotiated via the phone in this case):j. I'm really happy with the discount I was given and the whole process:D. I wrote to the others with offers and one has refused my offer and I've refused their counter one so it will be a case of waiting a bit longer until they offer me something better. Still waiting to hear anything at all from the other 2, no response whatsoever:mad:. Why do these people take so long?
I sent off F&Fs mid September and 3 haven't even bothered acknowledging the offers. Hey ho - they can get stuffed and stay on token payments for another year. It would be nice to settle but I can continue 'as is'
One of my debts - the DCA no longer manages it and referred me back to another DCA who they were managing it for. That DCA has no record of it. I'm not writing to the original creditor. I'm not paying anything to this debt and haven't done for over a year now. It's almost £12k so I don't care if it's lost in the system somewhere. I will wait until someone contacts me about it. :TDFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
Letter today confirmation of Link account cleared -nice suprise as this was my DFS Sofa -one I paid via visa debit and this one went to dmp shortly after purchase due to unemployment.(2 sofas one purchase)
Quite happy as the sofa is going to last me a few years yet.
A reminder of what were difficult times.
Next few years are crucial in financial terms as I keep as motivated as possible until 2022 or maybe sooner if possible.
Hope I can concentrate away from dmp -time has gone much faster than I thought, lets hope 2020's aren't far away.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -

I'd better try to curb my impatience then:o
Great news about your 'lost' debt, especially as it's a biggie:j. Here's to them never finding it:beer:0 -
I’ve been waiting for the postman all week to see what letters he brings. I’ve heard nothing yet with regards to dmp payment offers (letters sent 1st class on the 22nd) . My 30 days of being left alone ended on Tuesday and I’ve not heard a peep from MBNA or RBS. I was expecting to be bombarded with phone calls by now.0

Hello, I’ve been having a read of the forum as myself and my husband are about to embark on our dmp journey - we have sent holding letters to each of our (many) creditors and are now receiving replies - today my husband had a response from HSBC (his biggest cc debt) stating that the signature on the holding letter doesn’t match the signature they hold for him so they are refusing to acknowledge the letter! We have not had this problem with any of the other creditors. Just wondered if this is a normal response? Thankyou for reading and thanks in advance for any advice, my husband is having a bit of a panic!:(0

Hiya and welcome!
I'm still in the early stages of my own journey but you are definitely in the right place for support and guidance.
When we sent our holding letters we never signed them at all, bar printed names at the bottom. Out of the seven unsigned letters I sent, five have been acknowledged in writing. All creditors granted a further 30 day breathing space period. These were all credit cards, although not HSBC. The other two letters pertained to loans but never 'reached their destination', but that's tomorrow's battle and a story for another day ...

Hi, just asking again as I never got any responses, does anyone know the allowable/acceptable current total amounts that creditors allow for the various spending categories, or can point me in the direction?:beer:0 -

Hi Pedro,
They don`t exit mate, as everyone's circumstances are different, if you are in a regulated agreement, such as an IVA, there are general allowances for some things, and the IP/intermediary, will apply those figures to your circumstances.
For an unregulated DMP its entirely up to you, only you know what you spend, how can you expect any 3rd party creditor to know how and what you budget for your family ?
You set your own budget, as long as it is deemed reasonable, they have no say in the matter, anything that seems excessive, they may flag up, if it can be justified, fair enough, if it can`t, they may ask you to lower a certain figure, but its entirely your decision.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Sorry you didn't get a speedy response the first time round and had to ask again.
If you fill out the budget, income and expenditure forms on the NEDCAB website (and I seem to recall on the Stepchange one too) it will flag up if the figure that you have typed in is too high. These initial forms are not binding in any way, they are just for you to sort out your own incoming and outgoing figures. You don't even have to submit them to anyone and you can change amounts that you've inputted to something more acceptable.
I'm sure someone else will be along later to help further, I've got to dash:(. Good luck:beer:0
