Hi, quick question regarding a debt. I have a debt with barclaycard and have received a letter from them and AIC saying they are managing it on their behalf. However Barclaycard are saying they have sold it, this is really unclear in their communication is there any way i can check who actually owns it.0

Doesn’t really matter either way, you just pay whoever is writing to you.
If the letter is unclear, simply ask AIC.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Back again! Sorry for being a pain. I guess the answer is “how long is a piece of string” but I started my DMP 3 weeks ago. Halifax have been great and have already written to me to say they’re closing the account, stopping interest and fees and then recoveries team will be in touch to discuss repayment. I’m with Payplan so they will be dealing with the payments. So my main reason for posting is, when can I expect to hear from Tesco & Barclaycard? Neither has made any changes to my online account (Halifax made changes to my credit limit and made contact within 2 days of the DMP) or sent a text, email or letter.
I am such a worry wart! I didn’t realise that Tesco was connected to RBS and RBS is who I have my mortgage with. Will this cause any issues?

Hi @lisamarie85 I had a letter from Tesco within about a month they didnt do anything really, they kept charging me interest on my account until I owed enough in arrears that they could default me. Barclaycard stopped interest it took a while for them to default, when they did they passed the debt on to PKA GroupDMP 2021-2024: £30,668 £0 🥳

Halifax have been absolutely brilliant tbh, exactly what I could have hoped for in this situation.0 -
Hi everyone - I wondered if anyone had any advice. I came home to my parents during the brief lull in the lockdown last year and have since been effectively stranded in my parents home and not my main residence. As such I am well aware that there is likely to be a pile of letters at my "official" address and this has been giving me a bit of anxiety in terms of what may have happened in my absence. Anyway, I saw an e-mail today from my DMP management people - StepChange - and specifically I received notification that one of my debtors (PayPal) is now showing as Moorcroft. I've seen all sorts of nightmarish things on the web about these people, and so I've e-mailed StepChange to ask them for their advice but does anyone have any suggestions what to do with this kind of change? I assume I should still keep my payments going with the DMP and not "cave in" to any demands from Moorcroft directly? Many thanks for any advice in advance0

Hi alxofn1. I have 7 defaulted accounts and moorcroft are dealing with 4 of those. They have been absolutely fine and because of income reduction recently I have dropped to token payments. Again no issue. No chasing and minimal letters. I have learnt that if you keep Dcas (moorcroft, wescot, link etc) updated they will be fine and not chase you etc. Just be honest and upfront and tell them what you will pay.1
