Thank you, I'm sure everyone has a wobble , but I was ready to forget about the whole thing last night.

I've gone through all the debts and most don't have my home phone listed, just my mobile and a couple let me remove the home number. I'm sure they have it somewhere but it's made me feel better for now. I'm also getting the sky talk blocking software setup though it's proving difficult so far.

I'll get all holding letters written and sent this weekend (except my bank as can't change my account before I'm paid again) so ideally this this weekend is where it'll all hit home. Trying to relax for now.

On the benefit side I'm on holiday at the end of march and I'll have over £1500 more than if I hadn't started this in my bank, so little things like that are helping

I'm not going to do a full diary but I'll deffo put a few posts up over the next few months to try and hopefully help others.

Quick question are RBS and Lloyds Bank linked? My loan debt is with RBS and I have a basic account with Lloyds, if they are linked can RBS take money from my Lloyds account?

Can I get some honest feedback from those that have gone through a DMP, I'm just seeing up , I'm going to use payplan rather than stepchange now, though believe these are similar

My plan is due to start on march 15th , I have 14 creditors, mobile phone accounts, loans and credit cards.

Am I going to get constantly hounded by phone calls? If so how long before these usually stop (will they stop once payments are accepted?) I know you can send letters saying no phone contact and from reading on here it doesn't sound like most dcas listen to that

I know I can not answer but my wife works from home childminding constant calls all day will be the end of us.

Any honest thoughts would be appreciated. To say I'm wobbling now is an understatement

I wrote to all my creditors and told them not to phone me, they all complied. Occasionally one would phone me, and I would just refuse to engage and tell them to write to me. I removed my phone numbers from all my online accounts and told them to remove them from their records.

Have you not heard of Google, took 0.31 seconds to find out.

    No, they are not linked.

Yes I have heard of Google, and when I googled it said that

Bank of Scotland were linked to Lloyds Banking group. As this is rather similar to royal Bank of Scotland I thought I would quickly check in here

    Thanks though!

Royal Bank Of Scotland are a separate banking group to Bank Of Scotland.

  • Hi, among my 9 creditors I have 2 loans with Lloyds. One quite recent for 15k and another earlier one with 6k outstanding. I am looking at entering into a DMP with SC but have heard that Lloyds often don't accept the DMP offer and can be nasty. This worries me. Has anyone had experience with Lloyds and their DMP? Please let me know.

DMP’s are never wholly rejected, if the creditor is not happy with the payment, they simply sell the debt on, payment still gets made, after all, the debt is still owed, makes no difference to you who owns it.

Creditors are obligated to treat you in a fair way, “nasty” doesn’t come into the equation, you have a business relationship with them, no more, no less, Mr B in Scotland will be treated the same as Mrs X in Cornwall.

  • Hi there, first ever post and very new to this.

I would be grateful for some advice. I have around £30k in cc / loan debt and I started a DMP with Payplan around 5 months ago. I am currently paying £500/mth to clear the 30k.

    Few issues:
I have maxed out 2 more cards that I kept for emergencies. (I definitely am not allowed credit again, i just cannot handle it). Can I add these on to my DMP even though it has already started? I can add another £25 to the monthly payment

2 of the creditors were Barclaycard, they went to PRA collections, but now they both seem to have dropped off my credit report? Is this normal?

Payplan have been fantastic and I do want to pay the debt off as it was my fault for running it up.

Any advice gratefully received as I am very new to this and the state of my finances / credit report keeps me up at night!

    Thank you
