Sorry to say but they are the one creditor who refused to default me, I went through all official channels but lost, even when sold on still no default, complained again and fos still agreed it didn't have to be defaulted.
Hope you get a better verdict!

Thanks Sourcrates I was wondering the same thing but then convincing myself that it can't happen as no-one with a DMP would ever have these removed but then if the amount is outstanding should the default stay. Glad that's clarified things in my mind :beer:0 -

Just to add to sourcrates advice - its worth keeping an eye on it from time to time, especially if sold on. Whilst its correct to say that an account can only be defaulted once- that wouldn't stop an unscrupulous DCA trying it on. I know, I know - yea of little faith
I'm expecting a good number of mine to drop off the files this year, its a great feeling isn't it0 -

Yes indeed... that and the feeling of finally being debt free. Its taken far more years than it should have, but I've learned a lot during my DMP years and I'm never, EVER, going back there.0 -

I have a similar question. I had a loan with Quick Quid and after a couple of months of complaints regarding unfair charges, I had my balance reduced considerably. I then informed them that the account still had not been defaulted. They told me that due to the reduction of the balance, they refused to default the account. I complained again and then out the blue, they agreed that as long as I had a payment plan set up, they would agree to close the account so it shows as closed on the credit file. So do i still need to pay the balance if the accounts has been closed?DMP Started June 20160 -

I'm not entirely sure here - but you say they said that as long as you had a payment plan set up they would agree to close the account. So I take that to mean just that, your account will be closed (meaning you'll have no more access to credit from them) but as they have already reduced the balance they expect you to pay the remainder of what's owed.0 -
Hi make_the_change,
I just wanted to add to Suseka97's post. If QQ are saying that they are only closing the account but not defaulting the account, then you too would have the option of withholding payment to force the default...I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
