Timeshare compensation

My parents have paid a pretty significant sum of money to a timeshare compensation company. Signed one set of papers with a company called, Lansdown financial ltd and then been sent a new set of papers to sign from ABC lawyers.
The second set of things to sign alerted them to this feeling odd and after a bit of research they're pretty sure that it is a scam.
Does anyone else have any experience of dealing with them and what approach should my parents take to getting their money back?
Advice very much welcome.

I wouldn't agree to do any business with these people. ABC are not solicitors, they are even based in Spain which of course makes it much more difficult to take legal action against them. In respect of Lansdown, their last accounts show a share capital of £1, negative net assets and no details of turnover. They are allegedly registered as a claims handler with the Ministry of Justice, you should check they are but at least if it is you may have some comeback if nothing happens, which I fear will be the case. If you sign your rights to ABC you lose any hope of legal action to recover money which I presume was paid to Lansdown in the UK or to complain to the Ministry of Justice.
If you google 'Lansdown Financial' complaints, I am sorry to say your fear that this is a scam is one that is held by a lot of people
As a general warning, never, ever, pay money up front to 'get out' of a timeshare deal particularly if they approach you, this site and many others are full of tales of wasted money so please think twice, and then again, before parting with funds. If by a miracle they paid by credit card, I would suggest making a claim under s 75 of the Consumer Credit Act against the card issuer but I fear miracles are few and far between with this business0
