Insurance claim?

Hi, I made a claim on my house insurance buildings cover earlier this year but it was refused and nothing was paid out. Now that it is renewal time and I'm getting quotes, do I have to disclose that I made a claim even though I didn't get anything? Thanks.

What is the exact wording on the question (does it ask about "claims" or "losses"?), and are you going through a comparison site or direct to an insurer?

I'd still say it was a claim, as the OP did claim, it was just a declined claim.

OP, I'd put it as claim for the value it cost to rectify the damage, see which insurer comes up cheapest, or the one you wish to proceed with and then see if you can find a number to call them direct and ask how they'd recommend you disclose it.

I'd also recommend you use dummy details on the "web" as you don't want their anti-fraud software thinking you are playing the system if the chosen insurer recommends not recording it as a claim.
