Arvato??

Hi all

I received a text today from ‘Arvato’. SMS as follows

We have urgent information for Miss xxxxxx. Please visit secure link https://www.my-rise.com/xxxxxx or call 0344 571 4055 quoting xxxxx. Text STOP 60070

I’ve never heard of these people or know what they want.

When clicking the link it asks me to confirm I am miss xxxx. I didn’t confirm or deny I just closed the page.

I’ve never received any communication from these people nor do I owe any money. I’m in the process of having a CCJ set aside and there was one account t with Lowell which I have paid. There is also nothing on my credit file to show I have an unpaid debt.

Does anyone know who they are and what they deal with?

Any advice would be grateful, thanks.

  • Just googled Arvato and they appear to be a debt management company. If I were you, I would simply block the number, so that they can't call or text...
I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

    I love my job

  • That’s what I assumed. The SMS doesn’t have a number attached to it so it can’t be blocked. Which is very annoying.

I’m 100% sure I don’t owe any outstanding debts and if I did then it is well over 6 years old. All my credit cards are up to date with nothing owing so I can’t even begin to work out what ‘debt’ they are chasing
  • Have you checked your credit files?

I wonder who would govern (or who can rap the knuckles) the pet muppets as I'd pass that email onto them
  • Zx81 - I’ve checked my credit files on Noddle, ClearScore and Experian. Nothing is showing up.

I’ve never received any letters just this one random text.

TWhitehousescat - I’ve never been with Eon. I did have gas/electricity at a previous address 2 years ago. But I phoned them and informed them I was moving out so the account was closed and no further correspondence was received so I don’t think it’s that.

As stated I did have an outstanding bill with Lowell but I paid them last week so I shouldn’t be getting a text regarding that.
  • ahh , eon at old address ?

I have been hounded by lowell as eon SOLD them a debt I did not owe

like you I informed them of final meter read and change of address , but vthe silly %^& at the call centre did not close the account !!!!

7 $%^&*(^ years !!!!and a bill of £594 for "20 mths "of "alleged" use , it was a bloody pre pay meter !!!

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5884390/eon-lowell-ombudsman-update gets fun at the end , obmudsman TOLD eon to recall debt

hope its not v this set of clowns you are stuck with
  • TWhitehousescat I’ve never been with Eon. I think the energy company I had was spark energy. And that was nearly 3 years ago

They have an office just down the way from me, in Hull.

It appears from there website, they have their thumbs in many pies, one of which is debt collection.

OP you do not need to respond to anything anyone sends you, unless it’s in the form of a letter, in which case a provit letter to them, would be the right response.

  • Just an update. 2 weeks after my last SMS I have recieved another one from these people!

Still no clue what they want.

I was wondering should I text stop to the number or just delete it. There no number associated with the text so I can’t block them.
