Combi Boiler Use
Comments
-
Ive got mixer taps, i just turn it colder.
Mixer taps can cause other problems too. Combi boilers run off the cold water, so depending on your incoming water pressure if you turn on any cold supply it can cause others to drop, e.g. when my bath is running just the hot tap, and I then turn on the basin cold tap, the hot water flow rate drops dramatically.
So when you increase the cold in your mixer tap, it may be reducing the incoming flow rate to your boiler, causing it to take longer to fill and using more energy!
Simple way of testing if this affects you. Turn on your mixer tap fully to hot in your bath. Then in the kitchen or basin, turn on a cold tap and see if it causes your bath flow to drop.0
